YAHUKIMO, REPORTASEPAPUA – After KKB shot the Wings Air plane a few days ago (17/2) in Yahukimo, TNI officers intensified security activities in the area where the plane was shot. This was done because the KKB’s actions had an impact on people’s lives, starting from disrupting transportation between regions, hampering the distribution of basic necessities for the community, as well as affecting people’s daily lives.
Therefore, today Thursday (22/2) people report to the TNI that they saw armed people (KKB) approaching the airport. Then the TNI from the 7th Marine Infantry Battalion Task Force responded by visiting the location in question and saw armed people approaching the airport.
After seeing the armed group, Soldiers from the 7th Marine Infantry Battalion Task Force ambushed them, resulting in a firefight, taking place in Dekai District, Yahukimo Regency, Papua Mountains Province (22/2/2024) at 00.05 pm on Thursday.
